BANGALORE: A tiger was found dead in Maddur forest range of Bandipur on Thursday. The cause is still not known.
The sample of goat meat that was found in the tiger's stomach has been sent to the lab for testing to check if poisoning could be the reason. Principal chief conservator of forests ( PCCF) B K Singh has ruled out trap, snare or gunshot for the death.
Singh also inspected the carcass of an elephant that was found in Kollegal on Wednesday. Post-mortem has confirmed that it was a natural death, but its tusks were removed.
