GONDIA: A tiger was spotted by some villagers in village Temni, about 5 km from Gondia, in the wee hours on Saturday.
Shashikumar Rahangdale, an environment expert at the Kanha National Reserve Forest and a resident of the village viewed the pug marks and confirmed that they were of a tiger.
"The pug marks are those of a male tiger which may be old. The beast might be from the nearby forest on the Madya Pradesh border. Due to old age he may be wandering in search of a safe place," said Rahangdale.
A few days ago, villagers of Dasgaon saw a tiger on the banks of the river Vainganga, about 20 km from Gondia. However, there was no official confirmation.
